Dr.
John Hamel
Dr. John Hamel began his career in dentistry in 1975, earning a degree in dental laboratory technology
while attending college in upstate New York. After accepting a position in a dental laboratory in New
Hampshire, he pursued a career as a dental ceramicist specializing in porcelain restorations until 1979,
at which time he entered dental school. Dr. Hamel attended
Syracuse University receiving a BA degree in biology in
1981. He was accepted into the doctoral program at Emory
School of Dentistry and received a doctorate of dental surgery degree in 1985.
Dr. Hamel views dentistry as a blend of art and technology, not only as an avenue to providing good
oral health, but as an opportunity to create beautiful, natural smiles, with new dental techniques. He
strengthens his knowledge by attending continuing education courses in order to stay up to date on advances and techniques in dentistry.
Dr. Hamel has also attended Baylor University of Contemporary Aesthetic Diagnosis and Treatment in Dallas,
and he has completed the Masters Aesthetic Course at the prestigious
Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental
Studies. As an LVI graduate, Dr. Hamel continues to participate in continuing education courses in
cosmetic dentistry. He can provide patients with dental care not only to maintain the health of
their teeth, but also to create a dramatic transformation in their overall appearance. Dr. Hamel has also
trained at the Institute for Oral Art and Design.
He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry,
the American Dental Association, the Georgia
Dental Association and a member of The American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Donna Tidwell
Donna is our office manager. She has been in the field of dentistry for 40 years and has been with Dr. Hamel since 1989. Her vast experience in dentistry and understanding of your needs makes her uniquely qualified to assist you with scheduling your dental treatment, and helping you make the necessary financial arrangements. |

Sue Casciotti
Sue is one of our dental hygienist. She has been with Dr. Hamel since 1991 and is the head of our hygiene department. Sue graduated from Northampton County Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1975 with degrees in Applied Science and Dental Hygiene. |

Susan Aspin
Susan, our administrative assistant, manages our patient accounts and our computer systems. She is also our official photographer. Susan has extensive training in dental photography from the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies in digital dentistry. She joined Dr. Hamel's group in 2003. |

Michelle Parker
Michelle is one of our dental hygienists. She has been in dentistry for eight years. She graduated from West Central Technical College in Douglasville, Georgia, with a degree in Applied Science Technology in Dental Hygiene. She has been with Dr. Hamel since 2005. |

Susan Dempsey
Susan is Dr. Hamel’s assistant. She is the newest member of our team and has been with us since 2006. She will make sure your visit is pleasant and comfortable while you receive exceptional care. |
